DAPL06 – FIRST LEVEL ACADEMIC DEGREE IN FASHION AND COSTUME
Learning objectives
The courses of study for the achievement of the first level academic diploma of the School of Artistic Design for Business have the objective of ensuring an adequate mastery of artistic methods and techniques, as well as the acquisition of specific disciplinary and professional skills in order to provide students with knowledge and design and expressive methodologies in the use of the tools of representation and artistic practices, with particular regard to communication, industrial design, design and fashion. The School’s courses aim to develop design skills and the practice of expressive technological tools, traditional and contemporary, concerning the use and management of space and the principles of communication and representation.
Employment prospects
The graduates of the school will carry out professional activities in the fields of fashion and costume, both for the show and for the fashion production companies, they will also have the skills to manage the processes of communication (online and offline) and the spaces of promotion and dissemination of the sector, including museums, working with both public and private bodies. They will be able to offer themselves on the market both to work in teams and offering their professionalism as freelancers or developing their own business projects.
Access requirements
Admission requires the possession of:
- Diploma of upper secondary school or other qualification obtained abroad recognized as suitable by the Academy in compliance with international agreements;
- An adequate initial preparation of the student, concerning the basic knowledge necessary for the School, verified through the entrance exam.If the examination is not positive, the Academy may indicate specific additional training obligations to be met within the first Year of the course.
Type of access test
The entrance exam consists of a motivational interview, during which the prerequisites for attending the Fashion and Costume course will be evaluated. Portfolios to be displayed, if any, on the day of the test, in paper or electronic format, are considered.
Type of final test
The final test consists of a specific study agreed with one of the teachers of the disciplines included in the study plan and may concern: – a project-artistic thesis consisting in the elaboration of a project adequately supported by theoretical studies; – a thesis of a theoretical – historical – or methodological nature, in the form of a short essay, where any material of artistic production attached will be functional to the specific character of the thesis.
