The academic courses are divided into 1st and 2nd level courses (3+2) following the current Italian and European regulations.

The Restoration course is configured, instead, as a single five-year cycle.

  • PFP1 Stone and derived materials, architecturally decorated surfaces.
  • PFP2 Painted artifacts on wooden and textile support. Artifacts carved in wood. Furniture and wooden structures. Manufactures of processed, assembled and/or painted synthetic materials.

In order to gain access to training courses, it is necessary to pass an entrance examination on fixed days, from year to year, by the competent government bodies.

Students who have:

  • of the Diploma of Art Institute (5 years)
  • of the Diploma of Artistic High School

The Restoration course welcomes a programmed number of students; the announcement concerning the entrance exams shows the quota of students to be admitted in the academic year of reference.

It should be noted that, unlike the 3+2 courses, for access to the one-cycle Restoration course, the entrance examination is mandatory for all applicants.

The educational paths have as their common objective advanced training in the context of visual arts, performing arts, photography, restoration and conservation of cultural heritage. They also aim at the knowledge and development of creativity in all its expressions, technical and poetic.

By virtue of the innovations introduced by the reform law n. 508 of 1999, the Academy currently issues academic diplomas of I and II level, which have been declared equivalent to the degree diplomas issued by the University; the most recent law n. 228 of 24/12/2012 established the equivalence.

The Accademia di L’Aquila is therefore perfectly integrated in the context of the European educational system, based on the application of ECTS, adopting consequently the Diploma Supplement.
