DAPL10 – FIRST LEVEL ACADEMIC DEGREE IN DIDACTICS AND COMMUNICATION OF ART

Learning objectives

The study courses for the achievement of the first level academic diploma of the School of Didactic and Communication of Art have the objective of ensuring an adequate mastery of the methods and techniques of communication, as well as the acquisition of specific artistic and professional skills in order to provide students with knowledge and methodologies of transmission and communication of the modalities of the realization of works of art, their interpretation and their enjoyment.
The course also aims to provide appropriate training in the management of spaces and tools for the disclosure of our cultural heritage, both through traditional means and new multimedia technologies, regarding museums and to exhibitions; both of artistic and of scientific and technological kind. Particular attention is paid to the acquisition of skills related to cultural design (to be able to pay attention to territorial contexts and contemporary needs) to stimulate self-entrepreneurship and the ability to respond to public tenders and to the needs of the private reality.
The agreements with important museums of the city, plus several exhibits present throughout the Region, will allow students to gain experience in the field during the internships and training internships included in the study plan as part of the core activities.

Graduates of the School’s diploma courses must:

• Have adequate technical and operational training in methods and contents related to the fields of communication, set-ups, museology and museography and art didactics;
• Possess methodological and critical tools adapted to the acquisition of skills in expressive languages, techniques and the most advanced related technologies;
• Be able to design effective learning pathways and respond to local, national and European tenders;
• Be able to use effectively at least one language of the European Union, in addition to the mother tongue, in the primary area of competence and for the exchange of general information;
• Have adequate skills and tools for communication and information management, in particular with IT tools.

Employment prospects

The graduates of the School will carry out professional activities in various public and private spheres as specialists, able to work flexibility, independently and alongside specialists in the various fields of cultural heritage, with particular regard to the communications aspect, both in the organization and setting of artistic events, as well as in the organization of communication media for artistic events (press office, public relations, etc.). They will also be able to design and organize workshops of art education aimed at a wide range of public and private users and offer specific expertise to educational projects of Distance Learning.
The Academy will organise, in agreement with public and private bodies, the most appropriate internships to contribute to the achievement of specific professional skills and will further define, for each course of study, specific training models.

Access requirements

Admission requires the possession of:
• Diploma of upper secondary school or other qualification obtained abroad recognized as suitable by the Academy in compliance with international agreements;
• An adequate initial preparation of the student, concerning the basic knowledge necessary for the School of Education and Communication of Art is verified through the entrance exams. If the examination is not positive, the Academy may indicate specific additional training obligations to be met within the first Year of the course.

Type of access test

The entrance exam consists of a motivational interview in which the basic knowledge necessary to face the course (mastery of the language, rudiments of Art History, knowledge of the territory, etc.) are evaluated.

Type of final test

The final exam consists of a thesis of historical-theoretical or methodological-plan or technical-artistic character, in the form of a short essay or didactic and/or exhibition plan, in one of the disciplines included in the curriculum or personal study plan.
