GRAPHIC – New Study Plans
The graphic arts school’s educational offer will be divided into two new areas, in addition to the existing one in comics and illustration. The new curricula are currently being evaluated by the Ministry of University and Research, after approval the detailed curricula will be published.
First level academic degrees:

DAPL04 – GRAPHICS – MULTIMEDIA GRAPHICS (FIRST LEVEL ACADEMIC DEGREE)
The objective of the first level study course is to train professionals able to offer on the market skills related to the technical knowledge of digital tools for graphic design, new technologies and the logic of the net, integrating also the practices of traditional graphics.
The course combines fundamental theoretical studies on the history of art, as well as those on mass medialogy, with the practice of graphic art both historically and through the technologies available today.
Graduates of the School’s diploma courses must have:
- Skills in the methodology of graphic design for communication;
- Knowledge of art history, visual perception and media languages;
- Knowledge of IT tools;
- Knowledge enabling them to use effectively at least one European language, in addition to their mother tongue, in their primary area of competence and for the exchange of general information.
The graduates of the first level will carry out their work in the field of graphics, from the printing one to the graphic for the web. They will be able to join work teams of companies operating in the world of communication, offering specific skills in the preparation of coordinated images, advertising campaigns both online and traditional ones, in publishing companies taking care of the aspects of design, layout and promotion, as well as carry out freelance professional and consulting activities for private companies and public bodies, as well as develop their own business projects in order to offer specific services on communication to companies operating in their market of Graphics.
DAPL04 – GRAPHICS – MULTIMEDIA GRAPHICS (SECOND LEVEL ACADEMIC DEGREE)
The course of study of the second level has the objective of continuing professionalization in the field of graphics by deepening the themes of the language of the image, both as an element of communication and as an expression of contemporary society. The themes on graphic techniques, from traditional to digital applications, also involving the fields of photography as a fundamental discipline in the work of communication, represent a fundamental moment in the path that combines theoretical and design/artistic aspects.
The graduates of the second level will carry out a type of activity in the field of high level graphics, from management and participation in work teams in companies specialized in communication, to management and participation in the graphic offices of publishing companies, as well as to carry out freelance professional and consultancy activities for public bodies and private companies, develop their own business projects and access the field of teaching, maturing the 24 CFA as indicated in DM 616/17.
DAPL04 – GRAPHICS – GRAPHIC ART ILLUSTRATION (FIRST LEVEL ACADEMIC DEGREE)
The aim of the first level study course is to train graphic artists able to produce original graphic works, respecting the methodologies of tradition and developing at the same time experimental techniques and languages related to contemporaneity.
The course combines the study of techniques and the study of the historical phases and languages of art starting from antiquity to the present day.
Graduates of the School’s diploma courses must:
- Have an adequate knowledge of the history of art and applied arts;
- Know the techniques of printing, chalcography, woodcut, silkscreen, photography and experimental forms;
- Develop capacity for research, design and implementation of artistic projects;
- Acquire the skills to use all the techniques of drawing and illustration, both traditional and digital ones;
- Be able to use effectively at least one EU language in addition to your mother tongue;
- Have adequate skills and abilities in communication, including through IT tools.
The graduates of the first level will work in the fields of graphic arts, from printing to those related to art publishing and illustrated publishing, working on the preparation of book products for industrial production and for products where the illustrated intervention is central and valuable, participating in working groups with editors and authors, as well as working in the field of visual arts and creativity.
DAPL04 – GRAPHICS – GRAPHIC ART FOR BOOK ILLUSTRATION (SECOND LEVEL ACADEMIC DEGREE)
The course of study of the second level has the objective of continuing professionalization in the field of graphic art with particular attention to the disciplines of editorial illustration, integrating all those theoretical courses to complete the first level and to deepen the languages of contemporary art and art criticism.
The graduates of the second level will carry out a type of artistic activity in the field of graphic art and illustration, offering their skills to publishing companies, as well as access to the career of teaching in the fields envisaged, maturing the 24 CFA as indicated in the DM 616/17.
