DAPL11 – FIRST LEVEL ACADEMIC DEGREE IN PHOTOGRAPHY
Learning objectives
The course of study for the achievement of the First Level Academic Diploma in Photography aims to provide a basic knowledge of analogue and digital photographic techniques and processes, ensuring a competence of methods and a cultural mastery of visual languages related to this medium. The course aims to offer the student an instrumental and linguistic base enabling him to design and realize works and interventions on the territory, deepening research and expressiveness.
Graduates of the School’s diploma courses must:
- Have adequate knowledge of the techniques of development and printing of analogue photography, processing and printing of digital images, knowledge of new computer technologies;
- Be able to use effectively at least one language of the European Union, in addition to the mother tongue, in the primary area of competence and for the exchange of general information;
- Have adequate skills and tools for communication and information management, in particular IT tools.
Employment prospects
The graduates of the first level course in Photography will carry out activities both in the field of professional photography, both in the field of visual arts and creative activities, as well as collaborating in relation to the different fields of application, the planning, design and implementation of the specific interventions of photography, both in the field of tools related to tradition, and new technologies.
The Academy will organize, in agreement with public and private bodies, the most appropriate internships to contribute to the achievement of specific skills and define further, for each course of study, specific training models.
Access requirements
In order to be admitted to the first level diploma course, you must be in possession of an upper secondary school diploma or other qualification, possibly obtained abroad, recognised as suitable. For the access requirements, as well as for the related verification methods, reference is made to the teaching regulations.
Type of access test
The entrance exam consists of an aptitude test, which includes tests to verify the knowledge and skills of candidates in relation to photography.
Type of final test
The final test consists of:
- A thesis of an artistic – design nature consisting in the production of essays on a specific theme assigned by the teacher of the course of the discipline to which the student is enrolled;
- A thesis of historical – theoretical, methodological, or technical – artistic, in the form of a short essay, in one of the disciplines included in the curriculum or in the personal plan of studies.Any material of artistic production attached to the thesis will be functional to the specific character of the thesis itself.
